Spy photos: 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8

Next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is currently testing in Death Valley, California. The car was spotted yesterday wearing heavy camouflage at the front.

Rumor is that the high performance version of the new Grand Cherokee will get a new 6.4 litre HEMI V8 with over 500 horsepower. The prototype was testing together with a 555 hp BMW X5 M, so it is quite obvious Chrysler is putting the new Grand Cherokee SRT8 against the likes of Cayenne Turbo, ML 63 AMG and X5 M.

Visually the new SRT8 will get a more aggressive front and rear compared to the regular Grand Cherokee. Other changes we can expect include a lowered ride height, upgraded suspension and bigger brakes.
