Lamborghini’s Sesto Elemento was a nice surprise at this year’s Paris Motor Show, but the biggest surprise came from Lotus who unveiled five high-performance concept cars, that will enter production within five years. The concepts are: Elite, Elise, Esprit, Eterne and Elan.

In addition Lotus has unveiled a new City Car concept that blends the latest Lotus Engineering series hybrid drivetrain technology with Lotus Design sophistication.

This range-extended EV features a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a 35 kW 1.2-litre three-cylinder range extender engine. Range from an electric-only mode is 60 km, after which the flex-fuel range extender engine kicks in, offering a range of up to 500 km. Peak power is 217 hp (73 hp continuous) and 240 Nm of torque, taking the 1,400 kg city car from 0-100 km/h in 9.0 seconds and to a top speed of 170 km/h.

At this point it is just a concept, and there is no information about taking it into production. Full details in the press release below.
