Dacia J92 ‘Popster’ MPV Hot Weather Testing In Spain — Spy Shots

Our spies have caught some more shots of Dacia’s MPV, codenamed J92 but being called ‘Popster’ by some speculators, hot weather testing in Spain.

We’ve seen this model out and about before and as launch gets closer so we find out more about the Popster.  It would seem to be a larger brother to the Logan SW, which competes with the Skoda Yeti, and more along the lines of the Fiat Doblo coming, as the Doblo does, in both MPV and panel van versions.  With that dual role in mind, it comes as no surprise to learn it will share its underpinnings with the next generation Nissan NV200 van and Renault Kangoo.

We can guess that it will receive the same Renault engines that power other Dacia models, including 105bhp 1.6 litre petrol and 1.5 dCi diesel engines (90bhp and 110bhp).  As with all Dacia’s, expect it to be very competitively priced and in markets where it doesn’t join an existing Dacia badged line-up, perhaps showing up as a budget priced Renault (India and South America included).

If it goes on sale in Ireland it won’t be before 2013, with prices starting below 16,000 Euros for the passenger version.
