Audi has released details for the new Q5 hybrid quattro, that is expected to make its public appearance next week at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It is the first full hybrid in the premium mid-sized class featuring a 2.0 TFSI engine and an electric motor with a total output of 245 hp and 480 Nm of torque.

Audi claims the Q5 hybrid can travel about 3 kilometers emission-free at a speed of 60 km/h. The top speed under electric power is up to 100 km/h, but that won’t last very long.

0-100 km/h in normal conditions comes in 7.1 seconds, while the top speed is 222 km/h. Average fuel consumption is under 7.0 liters per 100 km and CO2 emission is less than 160 g/km.

The Q5 hybrid weighs less than 2000 kg, making it the lightest hybrid SUV in the world. All this is possible thanks to aluminum hood and tailgate and re-engineered quattro all-wheel drive system with aluminum components.

Visual highlights are a glossy black grille, chrome tailpipes, hybrid badging, new 19-inch alloy wheels, redesigned instrument cluster and MMI Navigation Plus.

Pricing and market launch will be announced in the near future. Stay tuned!
