Current 2.9- and 3.4-litre flat six-cylinder engines will most likely carry over with some changes to horsepower and fuel efficiency. The next-generation Boxster also gets a new 2.5 litre four-cylinder, that in turbocharged configuration is rumored to produce up to 360bhp.
