Volvo has released details about the S60 and V60 R-Design versions ahead of their debut at the Paris Motor Show. Both cars feature modified bumpers, new grille, aggressive rear diffuser, and new unique 18-inch alloys. Inside you”ll find sport seats, aluminum pedals, and special floor mats.

For sportier and better handling, engineers installed a strut brace under bonnet to stiffen up the body structure. At the rear both cars feature monotube dampers. Engineers also installed shorter springs(15 mm lower than the standard car), stiffer bushings(20% firmer than standard) and Corner Traction Control which uses torque vectoring to reduce understeer.

“The all-new S60 and V60 are our sportiest models ever. With R-Design they are even sharper. They’re the natural choice for true connoisseurs,” says Magnus Jonsson, Senior Vice President Product Development at Volvo Cars.

“These cars have been specially developed for buyers who want to put their very own stamp on their car. And with R-Design, we are attracting a younger target group. We expect that 10 percent of all S60 and V60 customers will choose the R-Design option on markets where it is available. We aim to win over one-third of these customers from competing brands,” says Magnus Jonsson.

R-Design is available across the S60 and V60 range from a 1.6-litre D DRIVe with 115 hp to a 3.0-litre T6 with 304 hp. Both models will start arriving in dealerships this autumn.
